fantastic footage of a 5cm pak taking the top floor of the silo under fire at stalingrad! pretty sad how the old boy starts crying when they show his old company burying his old captain

really this is a priceless document of life at the front especially because it has the commentary of the men who filmed it many years later.

amazing to see kharkov still intact after the germans captured it the first time. a regular post-modern bolshevist "paradise".

also a very vivid demonstration of how backward russia was and how the mud huts and earthen huts contrast with the combloc "stalinbauten" apartments in the cities. really 5 or 10 years earlier and the germans would have waltzed through russia. russia built its industrial base up just in time. the rest of the country was still in the dark ages.

the population becomes very asian as they push further east.

cool how he climbs a tree and films the russians running around on the other side of no mans land.

and very cool fishing with hand grenades :mrgreen:
