Thats cool. Most artillery in liberation are of the same style as the pieces displayed in the screenshot above. If these fit RWM you may want to consider adding some of the other nations guns as well.

How about the stuff below? Both the MG lafetten and mortars are towable. I'm not sure if the wheels in the animation are correct though. Don't think I've ever seen a picute of a wheeled MG42/34.
The Puppchen seems to have an edge on RWM's counterpart, partly because the kneeled position of the crew which seems more realistic given the small size of the armoured screen protecting them. Is this feature incorporated in the unit file e.g would this be automatically included if the unit were to be adopted into RWM?

BTW.. I've never really noticed before but it seems the current Puppchen in RWM is literally a scaled down version of the pak40? The gun shield seems to have slanted edges and a more complex shape rather then the flat, square design of the Puppchen shield -which is more accurately represented in the Liberation model-

Liberations pak 38/40 are also pretty nice but they don't match the style of RWMs PAK series very well so you'd have to replace all of them, including the pak43 which is a lot nicer in RWM.

In general the guns / artillery in Liberation are pretty sweet which is quite remarkable considering how crappy most of the vehicles are (except for trucks). You definately have to check it out first though cause I'm not sure if the 'shine' on the liberation models is consistent with RWMs more matte finish.

Also, some of the artillery sounds in liberation are quite sensational. I' love the deep and rich sound with recoil and shell drop they used for the 17cm K18. I think RWM could do fore some more variation in artillery gun sounds anyway, right?

Briefly revisiting the previous discussion on Pzfaust/Schreck animations. When the footage below is used as reference it seems that smoketrails are inappropriate for either of them, including the Puppchen. It seems the 'best possible' animation would be a cloud of smoke surrounding the device when fired, rather then a long streak of smoke behind the traveling projectile.

Faby,
-Barbarossa- hat geschrieben:The guns look nice - I will give them a try and show a picture how it looks like in RWM (Don't really like the 88 though)
BTW what do you mean ''just the sFH18''? RWM has 6 german artillery pieces (Nebelwerfer/AA and AT excluded). Liberation has better models for most of them though, and also has several guns that are not in RWM like the K18 15cm and other stuff in the screenshot on page 10 of this thread.

Personally I'm not a big fan of the 15cm K18 and sFH18 sounds as they sound too heavy to me, almost like a coastal gun. Best sounds -to me- are those of the K18 17 cm, Soviet ML-20 and US Longtom M1a1 L/45. Since most guns (except for heavies like K18 17cm ) have multiple sounds -sigh- it's hard to make clear which sounds I mean.

@ Nevux,

I don't particularly care for them to be historically correct nor do I mind multiple guns sharing a single sound. I would just appreciate a bit more variation which is easily implemented give the excellent sounds available from Liberation.

the sFH18 in RWM isn't particularly wowing if you ask me, especially compared with the excellent models introduced in the latest updates. As for adding additional units I'm inclined to say: the more the marrier, provided that they are of a sufficiently high standard and match the units already in RWM.

Btw Sterna, how about your Netherlands 1945 map? I don't really have the time to do any serious mapping/scripting atm but please send me whatever you have so I can have a look

Hey Barb,

Have you checked the compatibility of Liberation mod units with RWM yet? Curious to know what you think.

@Barb

If you do release another version, it would be outstanding if the buildings in the old summer scheme were made as strong as those in the ostfront scheme. It would add so much more realism to urban combat because the visibility would be restricted, whereas now the buildings all collapse as soon as they burn a little and the viibility becomes the same as an open field. Its my only wish :D
