I think it is time to replace...

by own logo...

If any trouble...
This .bmp is real SuSt logo, so if you create own logo .bmp , i put into for U...

Then let talking about anothers resourses used by SuSt in menu...

.dat files have same algorithm of packing like .pck...
But palletes hidden in file...
I can extract and replase these grafix...
But i make it with scripts of shareware program so can`t put it here for download...
Same about fonts used in game and others menu elements...
For example we can replase more of SS2 grafix by own or SSF...

No tools!
Its knowlage and HEX advanced editor with special created for this purposes scripts...
1. I looking for hidden pallete. (For this used remaden SuSt_stuff).
2. Then data converted to .pck by HEX script, then unpack by remaiden SuSt_units.
4. Create-replace by own grafix and pack.
5. By HEX replace pallete and data in original file...
for not correcting file size and not have another troubles - size must be less or equal...


In some .dat files are more 100 grafix!


So... create own instead original grafix and send me picture for creating a new SS_file for U...

OK! I need some time for...
But see original! Size & Design!
If it posible plz rework for size and for .bmp 32b format ( Full coror)....
Because it will not look very nice in the game, especially on the big screen and with the dark background!


P.S. Red on original = transparent, semi-transparent grade.

Its all in .dat files!
Here is also .fnt files = pseudo .pck for fonts....
Trouble is in one file can be 100 or more pics of grafix!
Trouble is size of menu grafics not changed `cos its coordinates writen in cadDraw.dll (experiments in this field not over yet)...

OK advice for tools what we all have.....
1. Take the .dat file...
2. Rename in .pck .Analize it by sust_stuff. Here U can see how more pics of grafix here.
3. Split file by 512b and rename to *.col... browse files by SuSt_stuf and find where is pallete. 512b and begin from black or pink... It will be in 2 splited files so composite and create one .col file 512b.
4. Rename .dat to .pck and add .col with same name...and try extract by sust_units...
For some files enought...
Where is big size grafix or not standart... second way - Create big emty .pck and by HEX replace data here from file (addresses find by sust_stuff) analize....


So no secret- rutin work... But i am automatized it by scripts and some rework open source of sust_stuff and sust_units for...
I have Ripper for splitting file by addresses, but right now i must find it first...

I am sure that Russians have solution to it because they got it changed in their modern mod.
However, they did not reply to this technical problem.

They give out "the secrets", only when community its will already open. They give the programs when community represents the best programs...
But in spite of the fact that they in every possible way brake to modship their mods - only a mix of the international mods. The there no more than 5-10 % own..

But be careful with menu editing!
Those guys don`t till understand why their mods "fly to WINDOWS" every time...



And... If rutin wark will be hard but change all palletes for menu it is not so hard now...

This method (516-col) is for most. res pallettes editing too...

Do you know anything about the font file?

We have been trying to make a Chinese mod based on 2.3 (because there is no published Chinese SSRW)

so we get the Chineses font file out from 2.2 engine, insert it to the 2.3, but it turned out that all the characters became question marks.

Do you know why it happens?

I dont know exactly...
But think need unpack and repack...
Try rename to .pck, and as i wrote first find pallette inside... for creating pseudo .col...
I think something missed...
I don`t remember chinese letters in fonts file...
Second problem maybe for small fonts in game (another coding). This problem is for cyrillic, I don`t know about chinese ones...

Anyway i think you make better then Fireglow, becos i sow so many pixel bugs in files....
Some letters may be missed...
So it will be real chinese (universal) menu!
