What I know:
- Sust modders are using some older 3DSMAX versions (2011.., I'm using 2017), you can get education licence for free (for non-commercial products). Maybe it's too old school in some ways, modeling can be bit hard. But with tutorials like this it's not so bad: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DwjtKcG ... 1C&index=1
- Blender is good and freeware. Negative: user interface is completely crazy, confusing and often very hard to use. Otherwise it would be the best choice.
- Sketchup is good for start (also free), modeling is very easy and fast. But otherwise it is useless, there is no basic stuff like proper rendering.
Well, my goal is old school 2D RTS game inspired by Sudden Strike 2 with tactical/strategy map for planning military operations in singleplayer/campaign (like strategy map in Total War games) + classic multiplayer with lot of units on big maps
I have not been looking for anyone, so there is no team yet. Anyway more people would be needed. Esp. someone who is capable of designing game mechanics, linked structures (like units/weapons/armor system), formulas and calculations - such technical things. So far, it's more like a "test project".
