Hi TDF.

There is still no exact release date. Wuja and Mayor are planning a release in early 2021. Currently there are bug fixes which are being done.

The Release of the campaigns will be delayed. We will continue the work on them once RWM 8.5 is finished.
Releasing them in RWM 8.5 will be better for the units, sounds and graphics.
Until the release of the campaigns, we are going to try working harder in the Spanish civil war mod. Still more new units need to be added. And more missions needs to be completed...
We might take the lead to work on making more maps for each mod available here :dance1

There are 2-3 maps playable, we never finished the Budapest map and due to my dislike for the balancing in the mod there is no ambition to continue the project. In addition to that, necessary units are missing like the Zyrini III, R-2 tank destroyers and much more for both Rumania and Hungary, these units which were readily available in RCM are non existent here. Both of these nations played a big role in the war, and we wanted to showcase that, with work and other projects on YouTube there is no desire to continue.

For example we wanted to make the siege of Odessa but the TB-3 planes are not available for the Soviet aviation, and the Romanians have only riflemen available to them along with most ships even destroyers not present in 8.5, Dark11 did a really good job of making that map even without those historical units. If anyone wants the maps/files of this failed project please pm me.

I haven't tested the Mod yet. Can you explain what it is that you dislike about the balancing?

It would take a long time for me to explain, but basically here are a few points

Repairing tanks - This costs a fortune in ammunition cost, unlike other mods where we can repair vehicles for free, you can empty a supply truck fully just by repairing a throwaway unit like a Pz38.T

Artillery - The 122mm / 152mm / 280mm cannons do not do much damage, it takes at least 5 direct hits to kill a medium tank, it feels like they are more for visual effect and moreover if these guns take the normal "attack" action and shoot directly at tanks, they are somehow unable to do much damage, for example the BR-280mm is unable to destroy a Pz.4/T34 in one shot. As I mentioned again with ammunition, it is very expensive to use artillery and it never played a big role in single player as its more of a nuisance, or immersive set piece. While on the topic of long range weapons, how is it that the MLRS lets say, Katyusha, Nebel, T34 Calliope for example do little to no damage to tanks and are only working against infantry, this makes absolutely no sense to me they are even unable to destroy houses, and yet there is a BM31-12 with 300mm rockets. If they do not want artillery to dictate battles then remove it from the script, instead of having completely unrealistic balance.

Perversion of historical balances - As we spoke about with artillery, this mod has the most unrealistic and bullshit balance I have ever seen in terms of depicting the balance. Just for example the Tiger I with his 88mm Kwk36, is unable to one shot a T34 from behind, and the armour characteristics of the T34/85 are improved so he can compete with Panthers. The SU-100 is impervious to the Pz.4 yet he has only 45mm of frontal armour, the Sherman Firefly with the 17pnd gun, does basically 40% damage even to the side of a Panther which is absurd since it could just demolish him frontally quite easily, and from the side as we know the armour on this tank was so poor that the Soviets got through it with anti tank rifles.

Infantry - Lets just say, they are bullet sponges and for some reason the hull lmg of tanks does little damage, trucks and the unit with the Maxim 1910 are impervious to hull mg of tanks, they still didnt fix that.

Watch this video - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VY6pyR_P9tU , and you will be able to see some of my points, I was able to beat this mission without strategy and just by rushing the enemy and cheating the AI. For some reason single player in RWM is not a challenge and is too easy, the tanks shoot at trucks or infantry and you can snipe them from behind with your tanks, there is at least for me no strategy involved in most of the single missions since you can pass without thought and walk all over the computer opponent.

There are more points to make, and I have more examples. If people are new to sudden strike they would not notice most of this as I was, I played all the single missions and multiplayer over 4 years but I started to realize and come to hate it. The most important thing is that you enjoy playing , so any mod that floats your boat will do if you enjoy RWM then thats good, however for me an experienced single player who looks for a challenge this game is a cakewalk and not worth continuing on.

You cannot deny all of his advantages just because of some issues. RWM is the most systematic mod, and the problems you mentioned can be almost ignored after systematization
I think your questions are due to an excessive emphasis on the effects of individual units on individual units

I have played the mod for 8 years now, 100s of multiplayer battles and completed all of the single missions, maybe for a casual player the mod is perfect however after trying others I have a strong dislike for this one, there are even more characteristics that would take me all day to document but once you play the likes of RWG both TOW and 3VD you can see the differences.
