The soldier sprites are stored in files with the extension rs2 in common.sue. So unpack this file with unsue.exe.
You can view the sprites with one of the tools for working with rs2 files, for example rs2 manager.
If you want the soldiers in your mod you can copy the rs2 files to your game_common.sue, copy or make a corresponding desc file in desc_common.sue\units and add a corresponding entry in desc_common.sue\units\units.
Some of the soldiers lack graphics for going prone so in their desc file they should not have cancrouchexpa 1. You could also insert the missing graphics into the rs2 file but that is a lot of work. It would be easier to set cancrouchexpa to 0. Color is defined in the desc file by the camouflage parameter which links to one of the SoldClr entries in desc_common.sue\misc\misc. The Icon parameter must also be set to the number of an icon in the icon.res file which in vanilla SuSt II is placed in game_scheme1.sue. There are tools for working with icon.res, too.
You can find most of the tools here. If you still have questions just ask.

Re: Schemes
The issue Badger and i found is if we take the for example a Russian Rifleman , We want to wear a trench coat, We found in mods and SSF he is set by Winter.sue to have a certain camo no problem, but the issue is he is set to have file rgunew , W meaning winter for the trench coat. So we copy the corresponding files rs2 to the correct folder and sue them up. And the model never changes.
I may have to use tools but i found this odd.

Re: Schemes
Yes, If you just add the graphics with the long coats you will get the effect you describe. You should also make a copy of the soldier's desc file (for example copy dguner and save it under dgunerw), in the copied desc replace the line "file dguner" by "file dgunerw", add the new desc's filename in desc_common.sue\units\units and add the rs2 file with the long coat to the game_common.sue. Don't replace the rs2 file with the summer clothes.
Then you will have both variants and can choose the one corresponding to the scheme you are using in the editor.
If you experience problems with the unit limits you could make a units file for each scheme, I think. I haven't done this myself yet. Drop me a message if these problems occur so I can have a closer look at this.
