nice to here from Somebody about the RWG Mod. I was going in contact over the official side in russia. I got the answer that there is no more work planned for the next time in this mod. Are you a member of a new Modteam for the RWG even unofficial?
The tanktrain looks very good. I think the RWG is with the Liberation Mod the best Mod that is existing for now. BUT the RWG has still some big weak points that is holding me away making a map with it.
- specially tanks are still driving a bit too fast even when I play in the slowest kind controlled over game speed.
- I very hard MISS trenches, Infantry holes and dig in Positions for tanks and AT-guns like in Liberation mod existing. These are VERY important possibilities for missions and the game flow because without trenches even in World War II many frontlines had been impossible to hold. Without trenches it is nearly impossible to create a good defense because the weak infantry can not take cover. And that is specially in RWG important because of the artillery shrappnells fliying around and killing infantry.
- Trenches and bunkers should give infantry a good protection and not too easy to shot out. Flamethrowers, handgrenades and heavy tankfire should be the weapons to clear trenches. Only Flamethrowers for bunkers.
- Tanks are often loosing much too fast the drivers crew so you have often tanks that you can take over but also you need too many drivers reserves at all because of own losses.
- The shooting animation from panzerfausts is unrealistic because it only kills the drivers inside and there is no explosion. It should better do the same like in normal shooting by other tanks.
- wooden and stonefents should be possible to drive trough even by halftrucks, cars and other trucks.
These are the most important points out of my view.
I hope you can understand my critics and why I say it. It should make RWG the best Mod.
Of course when these things would be fixed I would create only maps with english text too.
