You can't give the US Typhoons because the bad weather stopped them operating, what about adding some m36s with shermans in escort?
we shall fight them on the beaches and on the fields, we shall fight them in the streets and we shall never surrender, because there isn't a button for that
) And we wont dig fortifications until SS3 =) or after it because the bastards didn't include it...

I was going to say prety much the same thing. But if your smart, you would'nt waist a shot on the Shermans you take out the Jackson. and they drop like flies. Cannon fodder.LT albrecht hat geschrieben:You can't give the US Typhoons because the bad weather stopped them operating, what about adding some m36s with shermans in escort?

Isn't that the point of Bastogne -ie- that the yanks are really up against it until the heavy stuff comes and relieves them? I mean, if it was balanced from the start it wouldn't be a famous battle.
Try like the Roy said and use the terrain to balance it out aswell as giving the yanks plenty of infantry AT weapons. If I recall correctly (but I probably don't
) only a regiment of Panzer Lehr was committed in the initial attacks and they coundn't deploy properly off the road to bring their full force to bare, so the attacks came in dribs and drabs.
Is a hard one to simulate though.

Dont know much about the battle, but if the american heavy stuff arrived lately... how about, making a map of that kind, that the us has to do defence battle until they get heavy reinforcements? Germany has better stuff in the beginning but the americans have better terrain and must try to hold it as long as they can, so long, until the big things arrive.

Yeah, lots of bazookas and quite a few 3inch ATGs. And some hellcats, they thwarted the firs blow by a company of Panthers I seem to remember...

All in all it is difficult to make strictly historical battle to be successful in a multyplayer game.i tried the same with a Burgebois battle.iworked hard to make it look really as it happen but the problem is that most people dont give a damm and they want the standard balance map.here is a way around it that might help.First you must choose you "center team"Either American or german the way they fought in the real battle .For example if you choose german then you put all they had even the kingtigers if you want.and for Americans you make 2 Armies One historical and the other standard balance And here is the trick Put the normal standard balance american team in AMERICANS and put the historical american team in JAPANESE.Japan nation is never played BUT you must warn in advance in the OBJECTIVE box about the matter.and decide in the beginning with other players what you are going to playI choose Japan so maybe in the futre you want to add russians and british in a standard game.
But again i tried it out once or twice and it was a flop.I had the same dilema .in this battle a german flak section knocked out 150 british tanks in nearly on go at this ridge at operation Goodwood stopping the entire advance for some time at the british side after conquering Caen. The germans had some SS Panzer units in the area and joined in in the killing.
It was a massacre. The british outnumbered them very high but due to lack of coordination they made a real mess.

Well here is my" lets try and please everybody" ever-so balanced, cooky cutter style 256 4v4 map. The units still need work but maybe I should get Kliest for that job he never seems satisfied ether.viriato hat geschrieben:i tried the same with a Burgebois battle.iworked hard to make it look really as it happen but the problem is that most people dont give a damm and they want the standard balance map.

Well if I had a new PC with enough balls (CPU/RAM) to host my creations, I would be sure to warn anyone who would be willing to play that it's a W.I.P. and they would be helping with a shot at greatness (LOL). Actually I've been trying hard

historical maps
well if u tryed for years i did it in one week an historical map i used terain from one map and i found it a perfect balance for units who fought in that period .i give just one ex : panther vs su 122 because in kursk u cant find t 34 85 or js 1 or su 85 or su 100 u can base on the t 34 76 and su 122 and su 152 .
Anyway i am starting to build Stalingrad historical and i have some new ideeas about reinf and game play will be intersting

Well your right, easy is easy.adrian hat geschrieben:well i did it in one week an historical map i used terain from one map and i found
The Bastogne Battle alone (if your familiar with it) is not easy at all to simulate. Both sides were totally different for first 8 days. The US had fortunately mostly deffensive wepons. So they were unable to mount an assault that would have been effective.
