Re: Creating a mod archive
As badger lowe already said: It was an early mod for SuSt II created by an individual with the nickname Erdbeer (german for strawberry). So in fact it should be Erdbeer Mod. I have version 1.5 and 2.0 in my archive. If I remember right it was later integrated into SSN Mod.

Re: Creating a mod archive
Thank you for that Gareth, that makes a lot of sense.Gareth hat geschrieben: 28.08.2020, 13:24As badger lowe already said: It was an early mod for SuSt II created by an individual with the nickname Erdbeer (german for strawberry). Yes, the Erdbeer Mod 1.0beta/1.5 by Hellcat and Erdbeer for SSII was referred to as the Einheiten Mod come V2.0 just to add to the confusion. The Erdbeer/Einheiten Mod basically took units from SSF and added those units to SSII which were missing from the new game.
You are correct Gareth, SSN Mod 1.0 did replace the Erdbeer/Einheiten Mod.
There was also a small optional update (0.31 MB) for Einheiten Mod 2.0 which removed the "whale song" from the loudspeakers of the propaganda vehicles and replaced it with speeches from the leaders of Russia, Germany and Japan. Sadly I don't have that update.
But I digress:
The moral of the story here is to never change a mod name or translate a mod name into another language!
So do NOT call the Erdbeer Mod the Strawberry Mod and do NOT translate Einheiten Mod into the Units Mod.

It just confuses people.
Take heed everyone or you will be forever on a wild goose chase for mods that never existed.

Re: Creating a mod archive
Is this update the Propaganda Mod which I have on my archive disk? I have never installed but I remember it to be quite small.Tank Commander hat geschrieben: 28.08.2020, 15:54 There was also a small optional update (0.31 MB) for Einheiten Mod 2.0 which removed the "whale song" from the loudspeakers of the propaganda vehicles and replaced it with speeches from the leaders of Russia, Germany and Japan. This all feels like some kind of SuSt archaeology...

The older forgotten mods interest me as well as the new and I like to share what information I have for reference purposes.

Re: Creating a mod archive
That is correct you do need the Simple Mod Switcher 1.2 by Major Ursa.
But since my recent post it has come to my attention that I've somehow managed to lose it.

Re: Creating a mod archive
Not from 17 years ago on XP.
Thankfully I have not lost too much of my modest file collection from those early days after my HDD went kaput in 2003.
I learned to backup everything a long time ago.
It's horrible trying to recover lost files and remembering what you had on top of that. I think the Simple Mod Switcher is one of them.
You inadvertently brought that to my attention after talking about strawberries. So I am still paying the price to this day.
Now I want it too!

Re: Creating a mod archive
I have travelled far down to the deepest levels of the abyss that is my hard disk drive. Under heaps of dust and cobwebs I found a directory which contained the files that thou hast spoken of. And behold: I brought it to the light of day.Tank Commander hat geschrieben: 08.09.2020, 03:03 That is correct you do need the Simple Mod Switcher 1.2 by Major Ursa.
