I have created my second mission in the World at War Mod this time in the Pacific-Sheme.
It's a singleplayer mission (512x512) USA/Aus. vs. Japanese reflecting the combat at the end of the year 1942 in New Guinea. The nature of warfare is focussed on jungle fights without too many heavy weapons.
I have started this mission as a test mission for the Pacific-Sheme and I think, the mission clearly shows the benefits of WWM with its great damage model, the need for a good combination of different weapons against different targets as well as a great overall gameplay. It also reveals some of its current drawbacks that have partly already discussed.
During my testing of this mission I got some problems with some "buildings" like the wells and tunnels, which looked great when creating the map, but lacked any kind of purpose (except observing), because its crews haven't any option for fight. When playing this mission I got all orders and targets step by step exept the final confirmation of victory. Here I still haven't found the reason, but I am on the way. You will know, when it will be over (after conquering the whole coastline from east to west - script is quiet easy).
This mission will need some time. Please don't bother me with comments, that it is too difficult. Allied troops needed more than two months to finally drive the Japanese out of Buna and Gona with very heavy losses on both sides. And one of their major foes was: logistics - you will know, what I mean.
Good luck and kind regards!
