What is this mod?

Hello,
Im new to the forum and I need to ask you guyse a really difficult question.

Around 10-12 years ago I used to play Sudden Strike with my relatives. But there was this mod/version that I simply couldn't find anywhere on the internet. I have some memories of it and I was hoping you could help me find it.

- I perfectly remember the Icon of the game - It was a green tank with a blue/yellow background (possibly a beach).
- One of the campaigns was with UK/USA, i think, and i had to take over a plane on the north with 10-15 soldiers and with this plane I had to bomb some tanks in the south.
- There were some kind of units that were colored in lots of colors - I think they were some kind of villagers/citizen.
- Im not completely sure but I think there were mine flails as a vehicle.

I know its little information, its all I can remember, but im dying to play it again.

Maybe it was a version of LRM (Long Range Mod) by Leonard. I vaguely remember there were some kind of mine-flail-tanks.

There was a mod in the english version of the pc zone and pc gamer magazines between the release of sudden strike 1 game and the demo of sudden strike 2 demo called T.W.O (The War Office) it had two versions and it had its on website it had about 6 missions for the first version and 20 for the second mission. but it was not up for long. That could be it coz around the beginning there was only 3 mods and that was APRM RW AND TWO Before the addon for sudden strike 3 the last stand there was loads of sites now thers only a few. This site has been going since the start "credit to them for keeping it up and running"

Well spotted badger lowe!
Calling a paid for standalone game a mod was misleading information. And you would have thought it had been mentioned of the fact that the game is set during the cold war era at the very least, it's not hard to tell the difference between that and WWII, how can you not remember that!

I didn't much care for Cold War Conflicts myself.

thanks, i think cold war conflicts is alright it was a nice change to see middle eastern units
some of the missions are bad but it is a decent game i would give it a 6/10
because for a game called cold war conflicts, its missing
Vietnam 1965-75
Angola 1972-2002
Iran/Iraq 1980-1988
Afghanistan 1979-89
and so on

and he said he remembered the Korean missions
and the koreans use the IS2 ,T34-85 ect as its 1950
also there is some Shermans and M48 witch looks like the M26
and i am sure that the jet is a glostor meteor witch was used in WW2
or perhaps it was that long ago

I can not see any mention of Korean missions in the post otherwise that would have been a dead giveaway.
Although he does talk about coming in from the north and bombing the south.
But you are right about the units being copied over from SS2 to CWC, a very disappointing release in my opinion.
I concur with the 6/10.

I know its the Korean mission because its the only one with civilians who are
pink blue white brown yellow
and the only one where you capture a plane and use it to bomb tanks

In hindsight you could argue that "Cold War Conflicts" or "Противостояние: Азия в огне" is in fact a modded version of SS2, but I stand by the fact to call a paid for standalone game a mod as misleading.

Cold war conflicts was great. But it had some stuff that was missing or bad.

1- Editor

The editor has got a problem. Its all in Russian and I don't understand Russian too much. I tried to use a translator to see what the words say but my issue is not in language.

After you compile a mission it gives an error message. Then you dont find the mission in SP missions.

2- Infantry and tanks

If you order the infantry to ride the tanks they will float in the air, but still the tank carries them. Its a funny issue

3- Missing wars and battles.

For the name Cold war conflicts it is missing some historical events.

1)Iran/Iraq war from 1980-1988

2) The Vietnam war from 1965-1975

3)War of Attrition 1967-1970 (Egyptian troops were doing strikes at the Israel troops in the other side of the Suez canal after the Six days war to weaken the Israel troops)

And there is more.

The wars that were in the campaigns of Cold War Conflicts are:

1) The October war 1973 (Or Yom Kippur War) In Egyptian campaign.

2) The Korean war in the Korean and USA campaign. 1950-1953

3) The Six day war 1967 in the Israel campaign.

It was still a good game although the issues I said.

I rate it 7/10.
