It is playable even without changes, but we have big plans...I think SS2 need only small changes in engine.
hope some of these will be realizedwhat i need:
- changes for modders (no new units limit, simple editing..)
- multiplayer: better MP interface (chat etc.), network code where client dont need public IP, fix stability
- singleplayer: better AI
- fix game bugs
- more real battlefield: you can ambush , hide units etc., trenches, maybe hills
sounds interesting, but could you go more into detail with Open GL and scripting.is not necessary:
- dynamic singleplayer campaign
- remake graphics engine under OpenGL (ortho with pixel per pixel mapping) for better optimalization and framerate (HW acceleration) + new particle effects etc.
- editor: fix for bigger resolution than 1024x768, remove crazy scripting and make missions in better way e.g. like in Operation Flashpoint editor
In my opinion the scripting, like many things has strange parts. But basically the idea with the three windows is very good and easy. We are thinking and trieing a lot with scripting. Like Blitzkrieg and LUA, and PIKE, another language. There are so much, so it is not easy to find the best concept.
